Jersey Mike's Subs Opens First El Cajon Location

Owners Celebrate Grand Opening with Free Subs

October 09, 2013 // Franchising.com // El Cajon, CA - Jersey Mike’s Subs, known for its fresh sliced/fresh grilled Jersey Shore-style subs, officially opened its doors in El Cajon on October 2. Franchise owner Ray Ibrahim held a grand opening and free sub fundraiser from Wednesday, October 2 to Sunday, October 6 to support Eric Paredes Save a Life Foundation.

The new restaurant, located at 141 Broadway, circulated 10,000 coupons throughout the community offering a free regular sub for a minimum $1 contribution to Eric Paredes Save a Life Foundation.

Eric was a healthy Steele Canyon High School sophomore athlete who died suddenly and unexpectedly from Sudden Cardiac Arrest/Death (SCA/D) in 2009. His parents, Hector and Rhina Paredes, established EP Save a Life Foundation to honor him through their commitment to prevent this tragedy from happening to other families. The EP Save a Life Foundation is committed to preventing SCA in young people through awareness, education and action. Saving lives is paramount to their mission and prevention is their goal.

Started at the Jersey Shore in 1956, Jersey Mike's continued its steady growth in 2012 opening 92 new restaurants throughout the country, a 33 percent increase in new store growth over 2011.

Ibrahim and Hallak exemplify Jersey Mike’s quest for excellence as it selects franchise owners who share the company's commitment to quality products and exceptional customer service and who are dedicated to giving back to the local community. Since 2010, locations throughout the country have raised almost $7 million for worthy local charities and distributed more than 500,000 free sub sandwiches to help numerous causes.
