New Dickey’s Barbecue Pit Saddles Up to Corpus Christi

Nation's Largest Barbecue Chain Opens New Texas Location

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas - October 13, 2013 - (BUSINESS WIRE) - On Thursday, October 17 at 11:00 a.m. Dickey's Barbecue in Corpus Christi will be open for business. The first 50 dine-in customers will receive a Dickey's gift card for up to $50 to kick-off the opening party.

"I'm very excited to introduce authentic pit-smoked barbecue to Corpus Christi," said local franchise owner Sherry Zimmerman. "Our community needs a local barbecue place and I just know customers will love the great food and family atmosphere here at Dickey's Barbecue Pit."

Friday the celebration continues from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. with $2 Pulled Pork Big Barbecue sandwiches and a drawing for a $500 gift card good at any Dickey's Barbecue Pit location. Radio station 99.1 FM will be on site and three winners will be chosen to receive free barbecue for an entire year. The celebration wraps up Saturday with a day of merchandise giveaways.

Brian and Sherry Zimmerman are from Kingsville, TX. Sherry was a stay at home mom before owning a Dickey's Barbecue Pit. Every time the couple ate out Sherry wanted barbecue. The couple was introduced to Dickey's Barbecue while on a trip to Dallas. It was always part of their plan to open a restaurant. The franchisees would like to eventually open three locations.
