Jersey Mike's Subs Opens First Elizabeth City Location

Owners Celebrate Grand Opening with Free Subs

October 23, 2013 // Franchising.com // ELIZABETH CITY, N.C. – Jersey Mike’s Subs, known for its fresh sliced/fresh grilled Jersey Shore-style subs, officially opened its doors in Elizabeth City on October 16. Franchise owners Shaun Hayman and Lynwood P. Evans held a grand opening and free sub fundraiser from Wednesday, October 16 to Sunday, October 20 to support Pasquotank County High School, Northeastern High School, and Camden County High School.

The new restaurant, located at 103 Tanglewood Parkway, circulated 10,500 coupons throughout the community offering a free regular sub for a minimum $1 contribution to Pasquotank County High School, Northeastern High School, or Camden County High School.

Started at the Jersey Shore in 1956, Jersey Mike's continued its steady growth in 2012 opening 92 new restaurants throughout the country, a 33 percent increase in new store growth over 2011.

Hayman and Evans exemplify Jersey Mike’s quest for excellence as it selects franchise owners who share the company's commitment to quality products and exceptional customer service and who are dedicated to giving back to the local community. Since 2010, locations throughout the country have raised almost $7 million for worthy local charities and distributed more than 500,000 free sub sandwiches to help numerous causes.
