Jersey Mike's Subs Opens First La Habra Location

Owners Celebrate Grand Opening with Free Subs

October 23, 2013 // Franchising.com // LA HABRA, Calif. – Jersey Mike’s Subs, known for its fresh sliced/fresh grilled Jersey Shore-style subs, officially opened its doors in La Habra. Franchise owners Marie and David May and Pam and Wayne Tyo held a grand opening and free sub fundraiser from Wednesday, October 16 to Sunday, October 20 to support Walk to End Alzheimer’s.

The new restaurant, located at 1370 South Beach Boulevard, circulated 5,000 coupons throughout the community offering a free regular sub for a minimum $1 contribution to Walk to End Alzheimer’s.

The Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s® is the nation’s largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s care, support and research. Held annually in more than 600 communities nationwide, this inspiring event calls on participants of all ages and abilities to reclaim the future for millions.

Started at the Jersey Shore in 1956, Jersey Mike's continued its steady growth in 2012 opening 92 new restaurants throughout the country, a 33 percent increase in new store growth over 2011.

The Mays and the Tyos exemplify Jersey Mike’s quest for excellence as it selects franchise owners who share the company's commitment to quality products and exceptional customer service and who are dedicated to giving back to the local community. Since 2010, locations throughout the country have raised almost $7 million for worthy local charities and distributed more than 500,000 free sub sandwiches to help numerous causes.

Passionate Jersey Mike's fans crave their subs made Mike's Way® with onions, lettuce, tomatoes and a signature olive oil blend, vinegar and spices. The company uses only private labeled meats and cheeses that are sliced fresh for each sub sandwich and piled high on in-store baked bread. Everything is quickly made to order for each customer, just the way the first subs were made at the original Jersey Mike's more than fifty years ago. This is the second Jersey Mike’s location for the Mays and the Tyos. In June 2012, they opened their first Jersey Mike’s location in Orange.
