October 23, 2013 // Franchising.com // NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. – Jersey Mike’s Subs, known for its fresh sliced/fresh grilled Jersey Shore-style subs, officially open its doors in Newport Beach. Franchise owners Hector and Jennifer Haget held a grand opening and free sub fundraiser from Wednesday, October 16 to Sunday, October 20 to support Corona Del Mar High School.
The new restaurant, located at 1318 Bison Avenue, circulated 2,500 coupons throughout the community offering a free regular sub for a minimum $1 contribution to Corona Del Mar High School.
Students at the University of California Irvine can check the Campus Special app on their smartphones or tablets for more offers and promotions from Jersey Mike’s Subs.
Started at the Jersey Shore in 1956, Jersey Mike's continued its steady growth in 2012 opening 92 new restaurants throughout the country, a 33 percent increase in new store growth over 2011.
The Hagets exemplifies Jersey Mike’s quest for excellence as it selects franchise owners who share the company's commitment to quality products and exceptional customer service and who are dedicated to giving back to the local community. Since 2010, locations throughout the country have raised almost $7 million for worthy local charities and distributed more than 500,000 free sub sandwiches to help numerous causes.
"Opening up in Newport Beach is an exciting move as we expand the Jersey Mike’s brand toward the coast," said Hector Haget. "This will be our seventh location in southern Orange County and we are teaming up with Corona Del Mar High School for our grand opening fundraiser. Working with the high school is a fun way for us to get involved with the community and give back to the students."
Passionate Jersey Mike's fans crave their subs made Mike's Way® with onions, lettuce, tomatoes and a signature olive oil blend, vinegar and spices. The company uses only private labeled meats and cheeses that are sliced fresh for each sub sandwich and piled high on in-store baked bread. Everything is quickly made to order for each customer, just the way the first subs were made at the original Jersey Mike's more than fifty years ago. The Jersey Mike’s experience always includes its trademark neighborly banter served up by a high-energy Jersey Mike’s team.
This is the seventh Jersey Mike’s location for the Hagets. In January 2008, they opened their first Jersey Mike’s location in Lake Forest. The Hagets also own Jersey Mike’s locations in Mission Viejo, Orange, Tustin, Foothill Ranch, Lake Forest, and Irvine.
