Jersey Mike's Subs Opens First Riverside Location

Owners Celebrate Grand Opening with Free Subs

October 23, 2013 // Franchising.com // RIVERSIDE, Calif. – Jersey Mike’s Subs, known for its fresh sliced/fresh grilled Jersey Shore-style subs, officially opened its doors in Riverside on October 16. Franchise owners Sameh Samaan and Wahid Karas held a grand opening and free sub fundraiser from Wednesday, October 16 to Sunday, October 20 to support JFK Elementary School.

The new restaurant, located at 497 E. Alessandro Boulevard, circulated 10,000 coupons throughout the community offering a free regular sub for a minimum $1 contribution to JFK Elementary School.

Started at the Jersey Shore in 1956, Jersey Mike's continued its steady growth in 2012 opening 92 new restaurants throughout the country, a 33 percent increase in new store growth over 2011.

Samaan and Karas exemplify Jersey Mike’s quest for excellence as it selects franchise owners who share the company's commitment to quality products and exceptional customer service and who are dedicated to giving back to the local community. Since 2010, locations throughout the country have raised almost $7 million for worthy local charities and distributed more than 500,000 free sub sandwiches to help numerous causes.

Partnering with JFK Elementary School gives us the opportunity to become involved with the community and support young students in the beginning of their educational journey.”

Passionate Jersey Mike's fans crave their subs made Mike's Way® with onions, lettuce, tomatoes and a signature olive oil blend, vinegar and spices. The company uses only private labeled meats and cheeses that are sliced fresh for each sub sandwich and piled high on in-store baked bread. Everything is quickly made to order for each customer, just the way the first subs were made at the original Jersey Mike's more than fifty years ago. This is the first Jersey Mike’s location for Samaan and Karas.
