Jersey Mike's Subs Opens First Fountain Location

Owners Celebrate Grand Opening with Free Subs

November 6, 2013 - Fountain, CO - Jersey Mike’s Subs, known for its fresh sliced/fresh grilled Jersey Shore-style subs, officially opened its doors in Fountain on November 6. Franchise owners Tim and Christy Holliday held a grand opening and free sub fundraiser from Wednesday, November 6 to Sunday, November 10 to support the Wounded Warrior Project.

The new restaurant, located at 6825 Mesa Ridge Parkway, circulated 10,000 coupons throughout the community offering a free regular sub for a minimum $1 contribution to the Wounded Warrior Project.

Wounded Warrior Project® (WWP) serves veterans and service members who incurred a physical or mental injury, illness, or wound, co-incident to their military service on or after September 11, 2001 and their families. On that date, America watched in horror as approximately 3,000 people died including hundreds of firefighters and rescue workers. Many warriors note a sense of duty to volunteer for the military following these tragic events.

Started at the Jersey Shore in 1956, Jersey Mike's continued its steady growth in 2012 opening 92 new restaurants throughout the country, a 33 percent increase in new store growth over 2011.

Since 2010, locations throughout the country have raised almost $7 million for worthy local charities and distributed more than 500,000 free sub sandwiches to help numerous causes.

We do things like cook our roast beef on-site each and every day and freshly slice all our meats and cheeses for each sub sandwich. Everything is quickly made to order in full-view of each customer- just the way the first subs were made at the original Jersey Mike's more than fifty years ago!"

Holliday added, "On top of great service, Jersey Mike’s commitment to making a difference really resonates with me. In fact for the first five days we are open we will be raising money for the Wounded Warrior Project. Wounded Warrior Project is a fantastic organization that supports and uplifts veterans who have made a great sacrifice for our country. With my wife Christy being an active duty reservist working at the Air Force Academy, giving back to the Wounded Warrior Project is especially meaningful. We are grateful for this opportunity to open our doors and support many service men and women who have defended our country."

This is the second Jersey Mike’s location for the Hollidays. In May 2013, they opened their first Jersey Mike’s location in Colorado Springs.
