East Coast Sub Sensation Opens First West Texas Location in Odessa

Owners Celebrate Grand Opening with Free Subs

November 15, 2013 - Odessa, TX - Jersey Mike’s Subs, known for its fresh sliced/fresh grilled Jersey Shore-style subs, officially opened its doors in Odessa on November 13. Franchise owners Mario Betancourt and Lalo Martinez held a grand opening and free sub fundraiser from Wednesday, November 13 to Sunday, November 24 to support Permian Football.

The new restaurant, located at 7270 East Highway 191, circulated 10,000 coupons throughout the community offering a free regular sub for a minimum $1 contribution to Permian Football.

Started at the Jersey Shore in 1956, Jersey Mike's continued its steady growth in 2012 opening 92 new restaurants throughout the country, a 33 percent increase in new store growth over 2011.

Betancourt and Martinez exemplify Jersey Mike’s quest for excellence as it selects franchise owners who share the company's commitment to quality products and exceptional customer service and who are dedicated to giving back to the local community. Since 2010, locations throughout the country have raised almost $7 million for worthy local charities and distributed more than 500,000 free sub sandwiches to help numerous causes.

Betancourt added, "For the first eleven days that we are open, we will be raising money for Permian Football. We chose to partner with the football team so that we can help with purchasing equipment to keep the players safe on the field.
