Jersey Mike's Subs Opens in DeLand

Owner Celebrates Grand Opening with Free Subs

November 15, 2013 - DeLand, FL - Jersey Mike’s Subs, known for its fresh sliced/fresh grilled Jersey Shore-style subs, officially opened its doors in DeLand on November 13. Franchise owner Jeff Padgett held a grand opening and free sub fundraiser from Wednesday, November 13 to Sunday, November 24 to support the Stetson University Athletics Department.

The new restaurant, located at 112 North Woodland Boulevard, circulated 7,500 coupons throughout the community offering a free regular sub for a minimum $1 contribution to the Stetson University Athletics Department.

Started at the Jersey Shore in 1956, Jersey Mike's continued its steady growth in 2012 opening 92 new restaurants throughout the country, a 33 percent increase in new store growth over 2011.

Padgett exemplifies Jersey Mike’s quest for excellence as it selects franchise owners who share the company's commitment to quality products and exceptional customer service and who are dedicated to giving back to the local community. Since 2010, locations throughout the country have raised almost $7 million for worthy local charities and distributed more than 500,000 free sub sandwiches to help numerous causes.

"At Jersey Mike’s we are committed to giving back to the community and making a difference," said Padgett. "Opening in DeLand is a really special experience for my family. My wife, Tracie Padgett, née Wilson, was born and raised here in DeLand and even graduated from DeLand High School. Being a part of the community that my wife always called home is very exciting for us. In addition, for the first eleven days we are open we will be raising money for the Stetson University Athletics Department. Our hope is that this will be the beginning of a lasting relationship with the students at Stetson University."

Passionate Jersey Mike's fans crave their subs made Mike's Way® with onions, lettuce, tomatoes and a signature olive oil blend, vinegar and spices. The company uses only private labeled meats and cheeses that are sliced fresh for each sub sandwich and piled high on in-store baked bread. Everything is quickly made to order for each customer, just the way the first subs were made at the original Jersey Mike's more than fifty years ago. The Jersey Mike’s experience always includes its trademark neighborly banter served up by a high-energy Jersey Mike’s team.

This is the seventh Jersey Mike’s location for Padgett. In October 2007, he opened his first Jersey Mike’s location in Lake Mary. Padgett is the owner of additional locations in Altamonte Springs, Orlando, Maitland, and Winter Park.

Store hours are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., seven days of week. You can contact this store directly at 386-279-7545.
