Owner Celebrates Grand Opening with Free Subs

November 26, 2013 // Franchising.com // Puyallup, WA - Jersey Mike’s Subs, known for its fresh sliced/fresh grilled Jersey Shore-style subs, officially opened its doors in Puyallup on November 20. Franchise owner Jeff Gates held a grand opening and free sub fundraiser from Wednesday, November 20 to Sunday, November 24 to support the Puyallup High School Vikings and the Rogers High School Rams.

To commemorate the event, the new restaurant, located at 4009 S Meridian, hosted a 5-day fundraiser with proceeds supporting the Puyallup High School Vikings and the Rogers High School Rams. Anyone who had a fundraising coupon received a free regular sub for a minimum $1 contribution. Ten thousand coupons were distributed throughout the community.

Started at the Jersey Shore in 1956, Jersey Mike's continued its steady growth in 2012 opening 92 new restaurants throughout the country, a 33 percent increase in new store growth over 2011.

“We had a great time at our grand opening in Gig Harbor back in July and we are gearing up to do it all over again,” said Gates. “For the first five days we are open, we will be raising money to fund student programs at two of the local high schools. We are so grateful for this opportunity to give back to the community and introduce the Jersey Mike’s brand in Puyallup.”

This is the second Jersey Mike’s location for Gates. In July 2013, he opened his first Jersey Mike’s location in Gig Harbor.
