Owners Celebrate Grand Opening with Free Subs
December 5, 2013 - Southlake, TX - Jersey Mike’s Subs, known for its fresh sliced/fresh grilled Jersey Shore-style subs, officially opened its doors in Southlake on December 4. Franchise owners Bryan Selden, Jeff Worthen and Chad Huffhines held a grand opening and free sub fundraiser from Wednesday, December 4 to Sunday, December 8 to support the Grapevine Relief and Community Exchange (GRACE).
The new restaurant, located at 2645 E. Southlake Boulevard, circulated 10,000 coupons throughout the community offering a free regular sub for a minimum $1 contribution to GRACE. Customers presented the fundraising coupon to participate.
Grapevine Relief and Community Exchange (GRACE) is a Grapevine, Texas based non-profit relief agency which provides food, clothing, financial assistance, and other vital necessities to people who are struggling with a limited income or recent emergency. The philosophy of GRACE is that encouraging self-sufficiency will, in turn, encourage community cohesiveness. Compassion and assistance are offered as a response to God's grace by local churches in partnership with municipalities, businesses, civic organizations, and individuals.
Started at the Jersey Shore in 1956, Jersey Mike's continued its steady growth in 2012 opening 92 new restaurants throughout the country, a 33 percent increase in new store growth over 2011.
Selden, Worthen and Huffhines exemplify Jersey Mike’s quest for excellence as it selects franchise owners who share the company's commitment to quality products and exceptional customer service and who are dedicated to giving back to the local community. Since 2010, locations throughout the country have raised almost $7 million for worthy local charities and distributed more than 500,000 free sub sandwiches to help numerous causes.
"GRACE is a wonderful organization with great ties to the Southlake community," said Huffhines. "At Jersey Mike’s, we are committed to creating meaningful relationships with our customers and community and we do this by supporting organizations like GRACE that share this same goal. By raising money for GRACE we are able to help make a difference and give to people who are in need. We could not be more excited for this opportunity to grow the Jersey Mike’s brand in Southlake and we invite those who live and work in this area to join us when we open our doors on December 4."
Passionate Jersey Mike's fans crave their subs made Mike's Way® with onions, lettuce, tomatoes and a signature olive oil blend, vinegar and spices. The company uses only private labeled meats and cheeses that are sliced fresh for each sub sandwich and piled high on in-store baked bread. Everything is quickly made to order for each customer, just the way the first subs were made at the original Jersey Mike's more than fifty years ago. The Jersey Mike’s experience always includes its trademark neighborly banter served up by a high-energy Jersey Mike’s team.
