Jersey Mike's Subs Opens First Somers Point Location

Owners Celebrate Grand Opening with Free Subs

December 18, 2013 - Somers Point, NJ - Jersey Mike's Subs, known for its fresh sliced/fresh grilled Jersey Shore-style subs, officially opened its doors in Somers Point on December 11. Franchise owner John Hurley held a grand opening and free sub fundraiser from Wednesday, December 11 to Sunday, December 15 to support Mainland Regional High School.

To commemorate the event, the new restaurant, located at 17 Bethel Road, hosted a 5-day fundraiser with proceeds supporting Mainland Regional High School. Anyone who had a fundraising coupon received a free regular sub for a minimum $1 contribution. Ten thousand coupons were distributed throughout the community.

Started at the Jersey Shore in 1956, Jersey Mike's continued its steady growth in 2012 opening 92 new restaurants throughout the country, a 33 percent increase in new store growth over 2011.

Hurley exemplifies Jersey Mike's quest for excellence as it selects franchise owners who share the company's commitment to quality products and exceptional customer service and who are dedicated to giving back to the local community. Since 2010, locations throughout the country have raised almost $7 million for worthy local charities and distributed more than 500,000 free sub sandwiches to help numerous causes.

"At Jersey Mike's we are committed to making a difference in the community, "said Hurley. "Working with our local high school for the grand opening fundraiser is a great opportunity to raise money for student programs and invite customers to try Jersey Mike's highly authentic product."

Passionate Jersey Mike's fans crave their subs made Mike's Way® with onions, lettuce, tomatoes and a signature olive oil blend, vinegar and spices. The company uses only private labeled meats and cheeses that are sliced fresh for each sub sandwich and piled high on in-store baked bread. Everything is quickly made to order for each customer, just the way the first subs were made at the original Jersey Mike's more than fifty years ago. The Jersey Mike's experience always includes its trademark neighborly banter served up by a high-energy Jersey Mike's team.

This is the third Jersey Mike's location for Hurley. In 1993, he opened his first Jersey Mike's location in Forked River. Hurley is also the owner of a Jersey Mike's location in Bayville.

Store hours are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., seven days a week. You can contact this store directly at (609) 653-3000.
