Owners Celebrate Grand Opening with Free Subs

December 18, 2013 - Redmond, WA - Jersey Mike’s Subs, known for its fresh sliced/fresh grilled Jersey Shore-style subs, officially opened its doors in Redmond on December 11. Franchise owner Leila McConnell held a grand opening and free sub fundraiser from Wednesday, December 11 to Sunday, December 15 to support Redmond High School.

To commemorate the event, the new restaurant, located at 17181 Redmond Way, hosted a 5-day fundraiser with proceeds supporting Redmond High School. Anyone who had a fundraising coupon received a free regular sub for a minimum $1 contribution. Ten thousand coupons were distributed throughout the community.

Started at the Jersey Shore in 1956, Jersey Mike's continued its steady growth in 2012 opening 92 new restaurants throughout the country, a 33 percent increase in new store growth over 2011.

McConnell exemplifies Jersey Mike’s quest for excellence as it selects franchise owners who share the company's commitment to quality products and exceptional customer service and who are dedicated to giving back to the local community. Since 2010, locations throughout the country have raised almost $7 million for worthy local charities and distributed more than 500,000 free sub sandwiches to help numerous causes.

The company uses only private labeled meats and cheeses that are sliced fresh for each sub sandwich and piled high on in-store baked bread. Everything is quickly made to order for each customer, just the way the first subs were made at the original Jersey Mike's more than fifty years ago. This is McConnell’s first Jersey Mike’s location.
