Jersey Mike's Subs Opens First Canton Location

Owners Celebrate Grand Opening with Free Subs

December 18, 2013 - Canton, MI - Jersey Mike’s Subs, known for its fresh sliced/fresh grilled Jersey Shore-style subs, officially opened its doors in Canton on December 18. Franchise owner and area director Peter Shipman held a grand opening and free sub fundraiser from Wednesday, December 18 to Sunday, December 22 to support the PCS Athletic Department.

To commemorate the event, the new restaurant, located at 42448 Ford Road, hosted a 5-day fundraiser with proceeds supporting the PCS Athletic Department. Anyone who had a fundraising coupon received a free regular sub for a minimum $1 contribution. Fifteen thousand coupons are were distributed throughout the community.

Started at the Jersey Shore in 1956, Jersey Mike's continued its steady growth in 2012 opening 92 new restaurants throughout the country, a 33 percent increase in new store growth over 2011.

Shipman exemplifies Jersey Mike’s quest for excellence as it selects franchise owners who share the company's commitment to quality products and exceptional customer service and who are dedicated to giving back to the local community. Since 2010, locations throughout the country have raised almost $7 million for worthy local charities and distributed more than 500,000 free sub sandwiches to help numerous causes.
