Sport Clips Haircuts' Julie Reagor Vargas Elected to National Beauty School Accrediting Agency NACCAS

GEORGETOWN, Texas (December 23, 2013) – Sport Clips Haircuts Director of Career Opportunities Julie Reagor Vargas has been elected to the National Accrediting Commission of Cosmetology Arts and Sciences (NACCAS) Board of Commissioners. Vargas, who is also a licensed professional stylist with more than two decades of experience, will now be a part of the NACCAS board that oversees accreditation of approximately 1,300 cosmetology schools and beauty school institutions, affecting more than 120,000 students nationwide.

"This is quite an honor for Julie and for Sport Clips, because she is now a part of the commission that certifies beauty schools to enable them to receive funding from the Department of Education for their students," says Gordon Logan, Sport Clips Haircuts founder and CEO.

"Julie has been with us since we started Sport Clips 20 years ago. With more than 1,100 stores in 45 states, Julie's an important part of our work to provide opportunities for stylists through training and employment. Her work will benefit students in their instructional setting as well as our Sport Clips clients when these students graduate and begin successful careers in the hair care industry."

The NACCAS scope of accreditation includes more than 20 courses and programs of study related to the cosmetology arts and sciences. Beauty schools and cosmetology schools that are labeled "NACCAS accredited" must meet certain academic and institutional requirements that include: cosmetology school curriculum, quality of education provided to students, facilities, and staff and admission policies.
