Express Employment Professionals Posts Record Sales of $2.5 Billion in 2013 With Nearly 400,000 Workers Placed

Staffing Company to Add 100 New Locations This Year

February 03, 2014 // Franchising.com // Oklahoma City - Express Employment Professionals, the largest privately held U.S. staffing company, announced record-setting sales for 2013. Express franchisees generated more than $2.5 billion in sales in 2013, up eight percent from $2.3 billion in 2012. The company also helped a record 395,506 people find work last year, up from 367,000 the year before.

Temporary staffing sales are up 121 percent since 2009 as staffing companies have become a significant driver of the nation’s job growth. Express anticipates growth of 10 percent in 2014 based on the continued demand for temporary workers.

The American Staffing Association Staffing index, which measures employment in the U.S. staffing industry, rose three percent the first week in January 2014. Additionally, a December 2013 report by Staffing Innovator forecasts a six percent growth for staffing in 2014 and a seven percent growth in the IT sector.

"Express built on our best results ever last year to drive continued success, posting the highest sales totals in our company’s 30-year history in 2013," said Bob Funk, Express Employment Professionals CEO and chairman of the board.

"Our focus on educating and informing job seekers and the upcoming workforce about the best and most lucrative job opportunities will help reduce unemployment and provide hope to more people for the future," Funk said.

Express opened 74 franchise locations in 2013 and plans to add 100 new locations in 2014, targeting strategic markets in 30 states and Canada. Key areas for growth include Nevada, California and Illinois, among others.
