Dickey's Barbecue Adds 7 New Locations in Omaha Market
Nation's Largest Barbecue Franchise Expands in Nebraska
DALLAS - Feb. 27, 2014 // PRNewswire // - The nation's largest barbecue franchise is expanding its reach in the Omaha market. With the first area location opened earlier this month by franchisee Joe Nguyen, Dickey's Barbecue Restaurants has plans to expand with seven additional locations slated to open later this year.
"We've seen a groundswell of interest in the Omaha market and growth is showing no signs of slowing down," said Roland Dickey, Jr., President and CEO of Dickey's Barbecue Restaurants, Inc. "Much of the new development is from franchisees planning to open multiple locations. We provide a valuable franchise opportunity and support system that are second to none."
The 375-unit restaurant chain has maintained impressive growth adding over 200 stores in just two years. The company currently has over 150 stores in development and is adding locations in key growth markets.
Franchisee, Steven Swift is a retiree relocating from Texas to Omaha to expand the Dickey's Barbecue brand in the area. Brandon Kosek, a former McDonald's franchisee, will be developing Dickey's Barbecue Restaurants in Bellevue and Council Bluffs.
"I did my research and was impressed with Dickey's concept of impressive growth at a low start-up cost," said multi-unit franchisee Brandon Kosek. "I'm originally from the Omaha area and can't wait to share the authentic Texas barbecue with the community."
Dickey's Barbecue Pit opened its first location in Dallas in 1941. Dickey's began franchising in 1994 and has continued to grow across the country. Dickey's currently has more than 380 locations in 43 states nationwide. With every new restaurant, the company creates additional jobs for landlords, brokers, construction companies, and of course the city itself. This is great news for the Seattle area.
About Dickey's Barbecue Restaurants
Dickey's Barbecue was founded by Travis Dickey with the goal of authentic slow smoked barbecue. More than 72 years later, the Dallas-based family run barbecue franchise still offers a quality selection of signature meats, home style sides, tangy barbecue sauce and free kids meals every Sunday. All meats are slow smoked on site in each restaurant. The fast-casual family-friendly concept has expanded to over 370 locations in 43 states and holds the title of the world's largest barbecue franchise. This year both Technomic and Nation's Restaurant News named Dickey's "Fastest-growing restaurant in the country" and they were also named "Best Franchise Deal" by QSR Magazine.
