March 28, 2014 // Franchising.com // YUCAIPA, Calif. – Jersey Mike's Subs, known for its fresh sliced/fresh grilled subs, opened in Yucaipa on March 19. Franchise owners Jordan Andrian, Russ Caldwell, and Don McCormack along with restaurant operator Matt Margetta held a grand opening and free sub fundraiser from Wednesday, March 19 to Sunday, March 23 to support Chapman Heights Elementary School.
The new restaurant, located at 33423 Yucaipa Boulevard, circulated 10,000 coupons throughout the community offering a free regular sub for a minimum $1 contribution to Chapman Heights Elementary School. Customers must have a coupon to be eligible.
"Growing up on the Jersey Shore in Brick, NJ, my mother would always bring home a Club Sub- the number 8- for us to share," said Andrian. "To this day, the number 8 is still my favorite sandwich! After moving out to the west coast and frequenting the Jersey Mike's Rancho Cucamonga location, I decided I wanted to open my own shop. After my wife, Lacey, and I were married and had our son Ethan, we thought this would be the perfect business opportunity for a young family."
Andrian added, "I especially want to thank fellow franchise owners Boris and Laurie Ilic, their manager Melina Schwarz, and the entire crew in Murrieta. My training with the Murrieta staff and the Ilic family has prepared me for the fast-paced and busy environment that comes with opening a Jersey Mike's. We are all just so excited to finally open our doors and support the community through our five day grand opening fundraiser with Chapman Heights Elementary School. Russ's mother works at the school so it will be especially meaningful for us to see how our support impacts the students."
