Jersey Mike's Subs Opens First Wilton Location

Owners Celebrate With Free Sub Fundraiser

May 09, 2014 // Franchising.com // Wilton, CT - Jersey Mike's Subs, known for its fresh sliced/fresh grilled subs, opened in Wilton on May 7. Franchise owner Brian Kelley of Paradigm Investments, co-owner Troy Davidson, and area director Brian O'Hagan held a grand opening and free sub fundraiser from Wednesday, May 7 to Sunday, May 11 to support the Connecticut Sports Foundation (CSF) and the BraveCort Foundation.

The new restaurant, located at 35 Danbury Road, circulated 10,000 coupons throughout the community offering a free regular sub for a minimum $1 contribution to the Connecticut Sports Foundation (CFS) or the BraveCort Foundation.

CSF was founded in 1987 by 27-year cancer survivor and former New York Yankee, John Ellis. CSF is a unique organization in Connecticut that provides funds to Connecticut cancer patients for rent/mortgage, utilities, transportation, medications and more. Patients are referred to CSF via a network of oncology social workers at Connecticut hospitals and cancer centers. Resources are provided with dignity and privacy, helping patients maintain self-respect while lessening the stress that may inhibit their recovery.

The BraveCort Foundation was founded by Brian and Andrea Kelley in memory of their son Cort. BraveCort focuses its efforts on research in the field of childhood cancer.

"We are lucky to be joined on opening day, May 7, by CSF founder and former New York Yankee, John Ellis. John, who will be on location during our busy lunch rush from noon until 2:00 pm, has been a true hero in the community and has devoted himself to making a positive impact for children and families who are affected by cancer."

Davidson added, "The opportunity to develop the Jersey Mike's brand in southern Connecticut is very special. I've been in the franchising and restaurant business for many years, and this concept proved to be a great fit for me moving forward. Everything from the authentic product, to the passion of our founder and CEO Peter Cancro, has made me believe in the viability and future of this company."

Davidson and Kelley are exemplary Jersey Mike's franchise owners who share the company's commitment to quality products and exceptional customer service, and who are dedicated to giving back to the local community. Since 2010, Jersey Mike's locations throughout the country have raised nearly $10 million for worthy local charities and have distributed more than 750,000 free sub sandwiches to help numerous causes.

About Jersey Mike's

Started in 1956, Jersey Mike's now has 1,300 restaurants open and under development nationwide. In just three years, the company has nearly doubled in size. A 2014 Technomic report ranked Jersey Mike's in the top five fastest-growing restaurant chains with sales above $200 million.

The growth is fueled by passionate Jersey Mike's fans who crave their subs made Mike's Way® with the freshest vegetables – onions, lettuce and tomatoes – topped off with an exquisite zing of "the juice" – red wine vinegar and olive oil blended to perfection. Jersey Mike's premium meats and cheeses are sliced on the spot, piled high on in-store baked bread and served up with a helping of neighborly banter from a dedicated and high-energy team.

This is the first Jersey Mike's location for Davidson and Kelley.

The restaurant's hours are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., seven days a week. You can contact this location directly at
