Jersey Mike's Subs Opens First Hemet Location

Owners Celebrate With Free Sub Fundraiser

May 16, 2014 // Franchising.com // Hemet, CA - Jersey Mike's Subs, known for its fresh sliced/fresh grilled subs, opened in Hemet on May 14. Franchise owners Boris, Laurie, Tanya, and Alex Ilic held a grand opening and free sub fundraiser from Wednesday, May 14 to Sunday, May 18 to support the Western Science Center. It's a family affair as Boris and Alex are brothers and married respectively to Laurie and Tanya.

The new restaurant, located at 719 S. Sanderson Avenue, circulated two different coupons throughout the community. One coupon is offering a free regular sub with a minimum $2 contribution to the Western Science Center. The second coupon offers a buy one, get one regular sub with a minimum $2 donation to the organization.

The Western Science Center is home to a fascinating array of Native American artifacts and Ice Age fossils that were unearthed at Diamond Valley Lake. The museum has been designed to provide world-class facilities for the research, curation, and presentation of the nearly 1,000,000 specimens discovered during the development of the Diamond Valley Lake in Hemet, California. Scientists, researchers, students and the general public have an unparalleled opportunity to interact with and to understand the magnificent creatures and resourceful people who inhabited the Diamond and Domenigoni Valleys from the distant Ice Age past through today.

"The Western Science Center is a truly unique organization in our community," said Laurie Ilic. "This eco-friendly facility provides a distinctive look into the ancient history of our geographical area and doubles as a middle school. We are very excited to partner with the Western Science Center and support programs that create hands on learning opportunities for students and the public."

Tanya Ilic added, "As we continue to grow the Jersey Mike's brand in this region, we have the wonderful opportunity to increase awareness for local organizations and charities. Opening our doors in the Hemet community will allow us to maintain our tradition of caring for our neighbors while serving our authentic sub sandwiches."

The Ilics are exemplary Jersey Mike's franchise owners who share the company's commitment to quality products and exceptional customer service, and who are dedicated to giving back to the local community. Since 2010, Jersey Mike's locations throughout the country have raised nearly $10 million for worthy local charities and have distributed more than 750,000 free sub sandwiches to help numerous causes.
