June 20, 2014 - Chattanooga, TN - Jersey Mike's Subs, known for its fresh sliced/fresh grilled subs, opened in Chattanooga on June 4. Franchise owners Ryan Hendrix and Andrew Brooks held a grand opening and free sub fundraiser from Wednesday, June 4 to Sunday, June 8 to support Chambliss Center for Children.
The new restaurant, located at 2260 Gunbarrel Road, circulated 2,500 coupons throughout the community offering a free regular sub for a minimum $2 contribution to Chambliss Center for Children. To accompany the free sub coupons, Jersey Mike's distributed 3,500 flyers that contain various offers. For each offer redeemed, Jersey Mike's will donate $2 to Chambliss Center for Children.
Chambliss Center for Children cares for more than 650 children every day throughout the city. Though its programs and locations are many, Chambliss Center for Children has one goal of caring for children and strengthening families. Its overall mission is "to preserve family unity and to help prevent the dependency, neglect, abuse and delinquency of children by responding to the community's childcare needs."
"We are grateful for this opportunity to bring the Jersey Mike's brand to Chattanooga," said Hendrix. "It is an exciting challenge for us to develop a new market and introduce the product and culture to a new group of customers. As is the tradition at Jersey Mike's, our grand opening will commence with a five-day fundraiser to support our community. We are thrilled to be working with the Chambliss Center for Children to support its programs, which benefit so many children in our area."
Hendrix added, "By the end of this year, we will open at least one more Jersey Mike's location in the area. Our plan is to develop this market quickly and continue our mission of making a difference and serving our authentic sub sandwiches."
Hendrix and Brooks are exemplary Jersey Mike's franchise owners who share the company's commitment to quality products and exceptional customer service, and who are dedicated to giving back to the local community. Since 2010, Jersey Mike's locations throughout the country have raised nearly $10 million for worthy local charities and have distributed more than 750,000 free sub sandwiches to help numerous causes.
Started in 1956, Jersey Mike's now has 1,300 restaurants open and under development nationwide. In just three years, the company has nearly doubled in size. A 2014 Technomic report ranked Jersey Mike's in the top five fastest-growing restaurant chains with sales above $200 million.
The growth is fueled by passionate Jersey Mike's fans who crave their subs made Mike's Way® with the freshest vegetables – onions, lettuce and tomatoes – topped off with an exquisite zing of "the juice" – red wine vinegar and olive oil blended to perfection. Jersey Mike's premium meats and cheeses are sliced on the spot, piled high on in-store baked bread and served up with a helping of neighborly banter from a dedicated and high-energy team.
This is the fifth Jersey Mike's location for Hendrix and Brooks who currently own four locations in the Charleston, S.C., area.
The restaurant's hours are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., seven days a week. You can contact this location directly at
