Jersey Mike's Subs Opens in Fairfield and Ridgefield on the Same Day

Owners Celebrate With Free Sub Fundraisers

June 24, 2014 // Franchising.com // Fairfield and Ridgefield, CT - Jersey Mike's Subs, known for its fresh sliced/fresh grilled subs, opened two new Connecticut locations in Fairfield and in Ridgefield on June 11. Both locations – separately owned – held grand opening fundraisers to celebrate.

The new restaurants located at 2189 Black Rock Turnpike in Fairfield and at 125 Danbury Road, Copps Hill Plaza, in Ridgefield circulated 10,000 coupons throughout their communities offering a free regular sub with a minimum $1 donation to the charities outlined below.

Brian Egan and Scott Kostyra, owners of the Ridgefield location (125 Danbury Road) supported the Boys and Girls Club of Ridgefield. The fundraiser will take place from Wednesday, June 11 to Sunday, June 15. The restaurant's hours are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., seven days a week. You can contact this location directly at (203) 438-5800.

The Fairfield location (2189 Black Rock Turnpike) franchise owners Brian Kelley and Don Wollan of Paradigm Investments, and Troy Davidson supported the Connecticut Sports Foundation (CSF) and the BraveCort Foundation. The fundraiser will take place from Wednesday, June 11 to Wednesday, June 18.

CSF was founded in 1987 by 27-year cancer survivor and former New York Yankee, John Ellis. CSF is a unique organization in Connecticut that provides funds to Connecticut cancer patients for rent/mortgage, utilities, transportation, medications and more. Patients are referred to CSF via a network of oncology social workers at Connecticut hospitals and cancer centers. Resources are provided with dignity and privacy, helping patients maintain self-respect while lessening the stress that may inhibit their recovery.

The BraveCort Foundation was founded by Brian and Andrea Kelley in memory of their son Cort. BraveCort focuses its efforts on research in the field of childhood cancer.

Opening Day, June 11, at the Fairfield location will feature special appearances at 11:30am by First Selectman Michael C. Tetreau, John Ellis, and Bobby Valentine. Valentine, a former Major League Baseball manager and player, is the Director of Athletics at Sacred Heart University in Fairfield and a former teammate of Ellis.

The Fairfield restaurant's hours are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., seven days a week. You can contact this location directly at (203) 612-5252. The partners opened the first Southern Connecticut Jersey Mike's in Wilton just last month.

These Jersey Mike's franchise owners share the company's commitment to quality products and exceptional customer service, and are dedicated to giving back to the local community. Since 2010, Jersey Mike's locations throughout the country have raised nearly $10 million for worthy local charities and have distributed more than 750,000 free sub sandwiches to help numerous causes.

About Jersey Mike's

Started in 1956, Jersey Mike's now has 1,300 restaurants open and under development nationwide. In just three years, the company has nearly doubled in size. A 2014 Technomic report ranked Jersey Mike's in the top five fastest-growing restaurant chains with sales above $200 million.

The growth is fueled by passionate Jersey Mike's fans who crave their subs made Mike's Way® with the freshest vegetables – onions, lettuce and tomatoes – topped off with an exquisite zing of “the juice” – red wine vinegar and olive oil blended to perfection. Jersey Mike's premium meats and cheeses are sliced on the spot, piled high on in-store baked bread and served up with a helping of neighborly banter from a dedicated and high-energy team.
