June 27, 2014 // Franchising.com // East Brunswick, NJ - Jersey Mike's Subs, known for its fresh sliced/fresh grilled subs, opened in East Brunswick on June 25. Franchise owner Chris Rigassio and his father Ron Rigassio held a grand opening and free sub fundraiser from Wednesday, June 25 to Sunday, June 29 to support TOPSoccer.
The new restaurant, located at 285 Route 18 South, circulated 10,000 coupons throughout the community offering a free regular sub for a minimum $1 contribution to TOPSoccer. In addition, 2,500 flyers containing various offers were distributed. For each offer redeemed, Jersey Mike's will donate $2 to TOPSoccer.
The East Brunswick TOPSoccer program (The Outreach Program for Soccer) is a community-based training and team placement program for young athletes with disabilities, organized by youth soccer association volunteers. The program is designed to bring the opportunity of learning and playing soccer to any boy or girl, who has a mental or physical disability.
"Growing up in Brick, NJ, I was surrounded by Jersey Mike's product and culture my entire life," said Chris Rigassio. "When I began looking into franchising opportunities, my father and I thought Jersey Mike's would be a perfect fit for us to go into business together. For the past three years leading up to this opening, I had the chance to work and gain more experience at some of Jersey Mike's top locations in New Jersey and California."
Chris added, "It's an exciting time for the brand as we're growing rapidly throughout our home state. I'm fortunate to have the opportunity to develop the brand in East Brunswick and other parts of North Jersey. With each grand opening we're able to make a difference for more and more communities. In East Brunswick, we're excited to partner with TOPSoccer and support their programs that help children with disabilities."
