Jersey Mike's Subs Opens First Northvale Location

Owners Celebrate With Free Sub Fundraiser

June 27, 2014 // Franchising.com // Northvale, NJ - Jersey Mike's Subs, known for its fresh sliced/fresh grilled subs, opened in Northvale on June 25. Franchise owner Greg Gillmann and his father Glenn Gillmann, along with their manager Joe O'Brien, held a grand opening and free sub fundraiser from Wednesday, June 25 to Sunday, June 29 to support Norwood Fire & EMS and Northvale Fire & EMS.

The new restaurant, located at 254C Livingston Street, circulated 8,000 coupons throughout the community offering a free regular sub for a minimum $1 contribution to Norwood Fire & EMS or Northvale Fire & EMS. In addition, 5,000 flyers containing various offers were distributed. For each offer redeemed, Jersey Mike's will donate $2 to the respective organization.

"As a kid growing up at the Jersey Shore, I always liked going with my mom to pick up subs from Jersey Mike's to bring home for the family," said Greg Gillmann. "It went without saying that they were the best subs in town, but what really stood out to me was the experience of walking in those doors. It was like the crew was putting on a show while making your sandwich. The employees knew everyone's name and order, and we knew that we'd be bringing home a great sub every time."

Greg added, "After working for a Jersey Mike's location in Brick for a year and half, I knew I wanted to pursue owning my own shop. I'm very excited to open our doors in Northvale and for the unique opportunity to support the community through a five day fundraiser. Jersey Mike's is founded on the idea of making a difference and making the best sub sandwich, and we're ready to bring our product and culture to Northvale."
