July 15, 2014 // Franchising.com // LAS VEGAS - Capriotti's Sandwich Shop announces its first development agreement in Georgia, demonstrating the popular sandwich company's ongoing commitment to expanding their reach across the nation. Capriotti's signed a multi-unit agreement with Michael Li, a Duluth native, who will open the first of three Georgia locations in Duluth this September.
With the first of his three locations opening right in his hometown, Michael's familiarity with the local area helped him decide where to open his first location. He will continue the 104 unit company's commitment of bringing exceptional subs and superior service to hungry fans. Michael is passionate about introducing Capriotti's 38 year-old tradition of roasting whole turkeys in-house every night and hand-shredding the meat off the bones the next morning to the greater Atlanta area. With years of restaurant and hospitality experience, Michael's understanding of the highly aggressive restaurant space makes him an ideal franchisee for the steadily growing brand.
"The past year's growth has been a hallmark in Capriotti's history with openings in new markets such as Washington D.C. and Northern California and upcoming debuts in others like Virginia," said Ashley Morris, CEO of Capriotti's. "Michael has an in-depth view of the Atlanta community and we are proud to open our first-ever Georgia location with his expertise and knowledge of the area."
"It's no secret that I've always loved good food, so when I discovered how much people raved about Capriotti's and tasted the delicious subs for myself, I knew it would be a great concept to franchise with," said Capriotti's franchisee, Michael Li. "Atlanta is a big foodie market with a lot of unique eats. We're excited we can start feeding hungry locals in September with Capriotti's homemade meatballs and slow-roasted whole turkey subs."
