Rent-A-Center Donates to Boys & Girls Clubs of Hawaii

HONOLULU - (BUSINESS WIRE) - August 23, 2014 - Rent-A-Center, Inc. (NASDAQ/NGS: RCII) today donated computer equipment and software, including nine Lenovo all-in-one computers and a high-tech multimedia computer, to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Hawaii (BGCH). The Charles C. Spalding Clubhouse is one of four across the nation sharing a total of $100,000 worth of Rent-A-Center funding for the development of "Tech Centers," aimed at providing Club youth the latest in available technology.

"The Rent-A-Center Tech Center at the Spalding Clubhouse will tremendously elevate the quality of our teen programs," said Natalie Pawluk, Clubhouse director. "Additionally, our staff will have an increased ability to monitor the use of the computers and ensure the safety of all teens as media consumers at the Club."

BGCH has been a cornerstone of the community since opening its doors in 1976. The statewide network currently operates seven clubhouses, three teen centers, and two outreach sites on Oahu and Kauai. Serving over 14,000 youth, BGCH provides a safe, structured and positive environment for young people to enjoy after school, during holidays, and on summer vacation.
