Jersey Mike's Opens First Springfield Location

Owners Celebrate With Free Sub Fundraiser

September 04, 2014 // Franchising.com // Springfield, MO - Jersey Mike's Subs, known for its fresh sliced/fresh grilled subs, opened in Springfield on August 20. Franchise owners Craig and Cathy Rankin, along with operations manager Jose Luna, held a grand opening and free sub fundraiser from Wednesday, August 20 to Sunday, August 24 to support The Kitchen.

The new 2,600 square foot restaurant, located at 1903 S. Glenstone Ave., circulated 10,000 coupons throughout the community offering a free regular sub for a minimum $1 contribution to The Kitchen.

The mission of The Kitchen is to create a place where persons, especially the poor, are welcomed and cared for with dignity and compassion. Its programs foster stability and purpose in the lives of individuals and families through dignity, compassion and accountability. Within its diverse community of connected services, The Kitchen offers resources to meet immediate needs and a plan that actively engages progress toward a positive future. Clients experience the benefits of their own efforts and the stories of self-sufficiency and success are theirs and theirs alone.

"Cathy and I feel that it's important to give back to people in need in our community," said Craig Rankin. "The Kitchen feeds the hungry, shelters the homeless, and helps so many people in southwest Missouri get back on their feet. He added, "My wife and I grew up in New Jersey and spent many summers at the Jersey Shore. We have fond memories of our times there including the taste of the east coast sub sandwich. I truly feel that nobody captures the authentic taste better than Jersey Mike's and I'm excited to bring this classic flavor to southwest Missouri."
