Capriotti's Sandwich Shop Launches Southern California Charity Initiative with No Kid Hungry®

Award-Winning Franchise Announces September Dine-Out Campaign To Help End Child Hunger

September 05, 2014 // Franchising.com // LAS VEGAS – Capriotti's Sandwich Shop is partnering with the No Kid Hungry® campaign to help end child hunger in America. From September 1 through September 30, all Southern California locations will donate $1 for every medium meal purchased, which includes a 12-inch sub, a drink and chips, to the No Kid Hungry® campaign.

With over 20 percent of kids in California lacking adequate access to proper nutrition, the September Dine Out initiative will not only positively impact these children, but also raise awareness in the community with the goal of eventually bringing that number down to zero. No Kid Hungry's endeavors helped Los Angeles-area schools serve 9.5 million more breakfasts to children in the 2012-2013 academic year alone. This year, Capriotti's Sandwich Shop is committed to doing its part and supporting the local community as the school year begins in Southern California. Every dollar donated by Capriotti's helps to feed a child for up to 10 meals, providing necessary nutrition for the student to succeed both in and out of the classroom.

"The Southern California Capriotti's partnership with No Kid Hungry is just one of the ways we give back to those who need us most, the children. As a restaurant brand, this topic touches our hearts and we want to do as much as possible to support the end of hunger in our local communities," said Ashley Morris, CEO of Capriotti's. "As the year continues, we will continue to do our best in helping those in need within our communities."

Participating Southern California Capriotti's locations include: Beverly Hills, Covina, Culver City, Encino, Glendora, Torrance, Walnut, Whittier, Tustin, Irvine Market Place, Fountain Valley, Newport Beach, Mission Valley, San Marcos and SDSU.
