September 05, 2014 // Franchising.com // Keene, NH - Straight from the Jersey Shore to Keene comes Jersey Mike's Subs, a popular sub shop known for its fresh sliced/fresh grilled subs. Jersey Mike's opened its first New Hampshire location on August 20. Franchise owner Don Wollan of Paradigm Investments, and operating partner Troy Davidson, held a grand opening and free sub fundraiser from Wednesday, August 20 to Sunday, August 24 to support the Cedarcrest Center for Children with Disabilities.
The new restaurant, located at 348 Winchester Street, close to the Keene State campus, circulated 10,000 coupons throughout the community offering a free regular sub for a minimum $1 contribution to Cedarcrest Center for Children with Disabilities.
Cedarcrest Center for Children with Disabilities is a specialized pediatric medical facility and school providing comprehensive services to children with complex medical and developmental needs. It is the only Intermediate Care Facility for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities (ICF/IID) licensed by the state of New Hampshire, and is also New Hampshire's principal provider of sub-acute medical care for children under the age of three.
"My wife, Devan, and her family have a long-time history in Keene and we knew we had to open a Jersey Mike's in this wonderful town," said Wollan. "We can't wait to introduce our family, friends and new neighbors to the best sub sandwich around and make a positive impact on the community."
Devan Wollan's cousin Dru Fox, a Keene resident, has been tapped as general manager and has gone through an extensive 360 hours of training including one week at the company's Point Pleasant training facility, housed in the spot of the original restaurant that opened in 1956.
