September 19, 2014 // Franchising.com // Westlake, OH - Jersey Mike's Subs, known for its fresh sliced/fresh grilled subs, opened in Westlake on September 10. Franchise owners Sean Getty and John Lescher held a grand opening and free sub fundraiser from Wednesday, September 10 to Sunday, September 14 to support Westlake Pay-to-Participate Scholarships.
The new restaurant, located at 30680 Detroit Road, circulated 7,500 coupons throughout the community offering a free regular sub for a minimum $2 contribution to Westlake Pay-to-Participate Scholarships.
"We're excited to bring Jersey Mike's to Westlake," said Lescher. "Every Jersey Mike's grand opening is a chance to support the community through a five day fundraiser and this time we've partnered up with Westlake Pay-to-Participate Scholarships. Our goal is to raise money so that more students are able to participate in extracurricular activities throughout the year."
Lescher added, "The support from our community and Jersey Mike's extended family of franchise owners has been a great help as we approach our grand opening. We're grateful to be here in Westlake and we look forward to opening our doors on September 10."
Getty and Lescher are exemplary Jersey Mike's franchise owners who share the company's commitment to quality products and exceptional customer service, and who are dedicated to giving back to the local community. Since 2010, Jersey Mike's locations throughout the country have raised nearly $10 million for worthy local charities and have distributed more than 750,000 free sub sandwiches to help numerous causes.
Started in 1956, Jersey Mike's now has 1,300 restaurants open and under development nationwide. In just three years, the company has nearly doubled in size. A 2014 Technomic report ranked Jersey Mike's in the top five fastest-growing restaurant chains with sales above $200 million.
The growth is fueled by passionate Jersey Mike's fans who crave their subs made Mike's Way® with the freshest vegetables – onions, lettuce and tomatoes – topped off with an exquisite zing of "the juice" – red wine vinegar and olive oil blended to perfection. Jersey Mike's premium meats and cheeses are sliced on the spot, piled high on in-store baked bread and served up with a helping of neighborly banter from a dedicated and high-energy team.
This is the second Jersey Mike's location for Getty and Lescher. In June 2013, they opened their first Jersey Mike's in Rocky River.
The restaurant's hours are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., seven days a week. You can contact this location directly at
