Huddle House Expansion Heats Up with Five Franchise Signings in September

New restaurants slated for Texas, Alabama, Kentucky and Georgia

October 14, 2014 // Franchising.com // ATLANTA - Huddle House, the full-service family restaurant franchise known for serving "Any Meal. Any Time.", signed five new franchise agreements in September.

The agreements are for restaurants in Sealy, Texas, Owensboro and Elizabethtown, Ky., Tuscaloosa, Ala., and Hazlehurst, Ga., with all expected to open in the next 7-10 months.

Through the first nine months of 2014, Huddle House has now signed 18 new franchises and two new multi-unit deals representing 30 new restaurants. The signings include the first Huddle House locations for Nebraska, New Jersey and New York. Overall, new franchise agreement signings are up more than 170 percent over 2013, and new construction starts are 100 percent ahead of last year.

Also in September, Huddle House opened its first restaurant in Forney, Texas, bringing its total number of operating restaurants to 377. Huddle House, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary, is now on pace to open 16-20 new restaurants in its fiscal year ending April 30, 2015.

"There is no doubt that the market for comfort food served in a warm atmosphere at value pricing continues to grow," said Huddle House CEO Michael Abt. "Our menu, coupled with a more connected society that now includes more than 15 million shift workers also creates an expanding audience for Huddle House. The traditional times for eating breakfast, lunch and dinner are gone, and that makes demand for Huddle House bigger than ever. This creates a growing interest among franchise prospects."
