Ziebart Announces Third Quarter Sales Results, Leading Automotive Aftermarket Product and Service Company Sees Record Growth
TROY, Mich. - Oct. 20, 2014 // PRNewswire // - Ziebart International Corp., the global leader in automotive detailing, films and protection services, announces third quarter 2014 sales results exceed internal company forecasts with an 11-percent increase in total sales, it was announced today.
The privately-held, employee-owned company reported its total domestic franchise stores sales were up 11-percent overall, with retail at 14-percent and vehicle protection category up 30-percent over the same period for 2013. The aftermarket company benchmarks its sales against total new vehicle sales in the U.S., which are up 5-percent vs. third quarter 2013.
"About 10 percent of Ziebart's domestic franchise stores have year-to-date annual sales volumes of $1 million or more," said Daniel Baker," President of Ziebart Corporation (U.S. Subsidiary of Ziebart International Corporation. He added that the gross sales for all stores in 2013 was $140 million. The company does not release sales figures except total annual revenues and percentage increases.

Ziebart reported that its Associate Dealer Channel of Trade sales (partnering with car dealerships) rose 21% in detailing services and 18% in film sales, helping dealers improve their aftermarket profit segment. Baker noted that films is one of the fastest growing sales segment and it reflects the diversity of the company's service offerings from its founding as a rust-proofing company.
Ziebart films category - including window and Z-Shield® Paint Protection Film – registered an 18% sales increase for paint protection film in the associate dealer channel and a 13% increase across all company marketing channels.
In the detailing category corporately, Ziebart saw a 12% increase in sales with a 42-percent increase from repeat customers in for warranty visits. The company saw a 25% increase in sales across the Ziebart product line across all channels of trade.
"While our overall sales often mirror U.S. car sales increases, these results indicate that the aftermarket vehicle protection services business is outpacing vehicle sales for a myriad of reasons with the bottom line that people want to protect their investment and are spending more on maintenance," Baker said.
