October 24, 2014 // Franchising.com // Milwaukee, WI - Jersey Mike's Subs, known for its fresh sliced/fresh grilled subs, opened in Milwaukee on October 8. Franchise owner Dave Deason and director of operations Bill Everett held a grand opening and free sub fundraiser from Wednesday, October 8 to Sunday, October 12 to support Lincoln Center of the Arts Middle School and St. Joan Antida High School.
The new restaurant, located at 544 East Ogden Avenue, circulated 7,000 coupons throughout the community offering a free regular sub for a minimum $1 contribution to Lincoln Center of the Arts Middle School or St. Joan Antida High School.
"Dave and I are excited to be part of Jersey Mike's growth in Wisconsin," said Everett. "What makes this brand very special is the culture of community involvement and the commitment to quality products and service. In keeping with tradition, our grand opening will include a 5-day fundraiser to support two local schools. Our goal is to make a difference for our community by supporting our schools and our students."
Deason and Everett are exemplary Jersey Mike's franchise owners and operators who share the company's commitment to quality products and exceptional customer service, and who are dedicated to giving back to the local community. Since 2010, Jersey Mike's locations throughout the country have raised nearly $10 million for worthy local charities and have distributed more than 750,000 free sub sandwiches to help numerous causes.
Started in 1956, Jersey Mike's now has 1,300 restaurants open and under development nationwide. In just three years, the company has nearly doubled in size. A 2014 Technomic report ranked Jersey Mike's in the top five fastest-growing restaurant chains with sales above $200 million.
The growth is fueled by passionate Jersey Mike's fans who crave their subs made Mike's Way® with the freshest vegetables – onions, lettuce and tomatoes – topped off with an exquisite zing of "the juice" – red wine vinegar and olive oil blended to perfection. Jersey Mike's premium meats and cheeses are sliced on the spot, piled high on in-store baked bread and served up with a helping of neighborly banter from a dedicated and high-energy team.
This is the first Jersey Mike's location for Deason and Everett.
