Authentic and Eclectic Mexican Grill Franchise Adds $10,000 to Ongoing Efforts to End Childhood Hunger in America

November 19, 2014 // Franchising.com // Aliso Viejo, Calif. – Through a recent month-long fundraising campaign by Chronic Tacos, a California inspired Mexican grill that celebrates the authenticity and individuality of its customers, the initiative to end childhood hunger in America took another step forward. Raising $10,000 to benefit No Kid Hungry®, Chronic Tacos has found a cause that speaks true to its brand message.

"From our experience raising funds for No Kid Hungry and raising awareness of childhood hunger in America, our company and our community is humbled and encouraged to help ensure every kid get the nutritious food the need, every day," said Michael Mohammed, CEO of Chronic Tacos. "We still have plenty of work to do in order to end childhood hunger in America, but every step forward connects another child to another meal. As long as we continue to take on the journey together as a community, we can get there a lot faster."

Chronic Tacos kicked off its No Kid Hungry campaign in September with its annual "Gringo Bandito Chronic Tacos Challenge" on Labor Day. The event was hosted by MTV celebrity Wee Man at Wee Man's Chronic Tacos location in Redondo Beach with entertainment guests including Offspring front-man Dexter Holland, creator of the Gringo Bandito hot sauces found in Chronic Tacos locations.

Throughout the month of September, Chronic Tacos continued to raise funds for No Kid Hungry through donations and fundraising events, including its September 22 promotion donating 15% of all sales made during the day.

"We're inspired by how restaurants like Chronic Tacos have embraced the call to help end childhood hunger in the U.S., and are actively encouraging their friends and competitors within the restaurant industry to join them in our dine out for No Kid Hungry promotion," said Debbie Shore, co-founder of Share Our Strength.

A California-based restaurant franchise brand driven by the authentic flavors of its Mexican cuisine and eclectic lifestyle of its consumer, Chronic Tacos is rooted in a heritage that values quality food, service and relationships. Through a continued partnership with No Kid Hungry, Chronic Tacos will have the opportunity to leverage its values towards a cause that will help to put an end to childhood hunger in America.
