November 21, 2014 // Franchising.com // Los Angeles, CA - Jersey Mike's Subs, known for its fresh sliced/fresh grilled subs, opened in Los Angeles on October 29. Franchise owner John Cotter held a grand opening and free sub fundraiser from Wednesday, October 29 to Sunday, November 2 to support Children's Institute, Inc. (CII).
The new restaurant, located at 4700 W. Pico Boulevard, circulated 2,500 coupons throughout the community offering a free regular sub for a minimum $1 contribution to CII. In addition, 2,500 flyers containing various offers will be distributed. For each offer redeemed, Jersey Mike's will donate $1 to CII.
Children's Institute, Inc. serves more than 22,000 children and their families in the city's most challenged neighborhoods, and trains more than 9,000 professionals in the realm of child development, mental health, and welfare. CII provides healing so that traumatized children can recover and lead healthy lives, while working to shape the field of children's services through innovative research, demonstration projects, and professionally accredited training programs.
"I grew up at the Jersey Shore and have always been a fan of the brand and the product," said Cotter. "After a few years of considering a career change, I finally decided to go back to my roots and franchise with Jersey Mike's. I'm very excited to open up this new location in L.A. and support CII. The Children's Institute is a great local organization and the funds we raise will go toward developing a new facility for their programs and services."

The growth is fueled by passionate Jersey Mike's fans who crave their subs made Mike's Way® with the freshest vegetables – onions, lettuce and tomatoes – topped off with an exquisite zing of "the juice" – red wine vinegar and olive oil blended to perfection. Jersey Mike's premium meats and cheeses are sliced on the spot, piled high on in-store baked bread and served up with a helping of neighborly banter from a dedicated and high-energy team.
