Canada Starts the Holiday Season With a Stable Jobs Report

TORONTO, ONTARIO - (Marketwired - Dec. 5, 2014) - Bob Funk, the CEO of the North America's largest franchised staffing company, today issued the following statement in response to the latest Statistic Canada Labour Force Survey which showed the Canadian economy held steady in November with an unemployment rate at 6.6 per cent (up slightly from 6.5 per cent in October). The labour force participation rate remained unchanged at 66 per cent:

"As we start the holidays, Canadians got a treat, a solid, stable jobs number. The jobs scene at the end of 2014 remains positive and something we should all be thankful for," Funk said. "That said, we need to remember many Canadians remain out of the workforce, with a labour force participation rate of 66 per cent, we need to focus on new measures to get people back into the workforce."
