January 9, 2015 - Tucson, AZ - Jersey Mike's Subs, known for its fresh sliced/fresh grilled subs, opened in Tucson on December 17. Franchise owners and siblings Bob Gregory and Rosey Gregory held a grand opening and free sub fundraiser from Wednesday, December 17 to Sunday, December 21 to support Kids of Steele.
The new restaurant, located at 6501 East Grant Road, circulated 10,000 coupons throughout the community offering a free regular sub for a minimum $2 contribution to Kids of Steele.
"My brother, Bob, and I are so excited to be opening our second location in Tucson," said Rosey. "Every grand opening is just another chance to give back to our community through a five day fundraiser. This time around, we welcome the opportunity to support the Kids of Steele and their commitment to support the University of Arizona Steele Children's Research Center in their quest to teach, to heal, and to discover."
"Jersey Mike's is a unique brand in that we have a culture of not only providing exceptional products and customer service, but also a culture of giving back to the community in which we live. We're not just in it to make a buck but to make a real honest difference in someone's life through our community involvement," Rosey added.
The Gregory's are exemplary Jersey Mike's franchise owners who share the company's commitment to quality products and exceptional customer service, and who are dedicated to giving back to the local community. Since 2010, Jersey Mike's locations throughout the country have raised nearly $10 million for worthy local charities and have distributed more than 750,000 free sub sandwiches to help numerous causes.
Started in 1956, Jersey Mike's now has 1,300 restaurants open and under development nationwide. In just three years, the company has nearly doubled in size. A 2014 Technomic report ranked Jersey Mike's in the top five fastest-growing restaurant chains with sales above $200 million.
The growth is fueled by passionate Jersey Mike's fans who crave their subs made Mike's Way® with the freshest vegetables – onions, lettuce and tomatoes – topped off with an exquisite zing of "the juice" – red wine vinegar and olive oil blended to perfection. Jersey Mike's premium meats and cheeses are sliced on the spot, piled high on in-store baked bread and served up with a helping of neighborly banter from a dedicated and high-energy team.
