January 16, 2015 - Rialto, CA - Jersey Mike's Subs, known for its fresh sliced/fresh grilled subs, opened in Rialto on January 14. Franchise owner Alvaro Garcia held a grand opening and fundraiser from Wednesday, January 14 to Sunday, January 25 to support Carter High School, Eisenhower High School, Frisbie High School, Hughbanks Elementary School, Jehue Middle School, Kolb Middle School, and Rialto Middle School.
The new restaurant, located at 186 E. Easton St., circulated thousands of flyers throughout the community each containing various offers. For each offer redeemed, Jersey Mike's will make a $3 donation to Carter High School, Eisenhower High School, Frisbie High School, Hughbanks Elementary School, Jehue Middle School, Kolb Middle School, or Rialto Middle School.
"At Jersey Mike's we are committed to making a difference in the community," said Garcia. "Supporting our local schools for our grand opening fundraiser is an opportunity to raise money for student programs and invite customers to try Jersey Mike's authentic product."
Garcia is an exemplary Jersey Mike's franchise owner who shares the company's commitment to quality products and exceptional customer service, and who is dedicated to giving back to the local community. Since 2010, Jersey Mike's locations throughout the country have raised nearly $10 million for worthy local charities and have distributed more than 1 million free sub sandwiches to help numerous causes. Currently, Jersey Mike's franchisees throughout the nation are gearing up for the 5th Annual Jersey Mike's Month of Giving in March. Last year, $2.1 million was raised for more than 100 different charities nationwide.
Started in 1956, Jersey Mike's now has 1,300 restaurants open and under development nationwide. The company was named the #1 fastest growing chain in the Nation's Restaurant News 2014 Top 100 and continues to win best sub awards in virtually every market it enters.
The growth is fueled by passionate Jersey Mike's fans who crave their subs made Mike's Way® with the freshest vegetables – onions, lettuce and tomatoes – topped off with an exquisite zing of "the juice" – red wine vinegar and olive oil blended to perfection. Jersey Mike's premium meats and cheeses are sliced on the spot, piled high on in-store baked bread and served up with a helping of neighborly banter from a dedicated and high-energy team.
This is the 23rd Jersey Mike's location for Garcia. In June 2011, he opened his first Jersey Mike's location in Rancho Cucamonga.
