Wayback Burgers Eyes the Lone Star State for Growth

America's Hometown Burger Restaurant Returns to the Franchise Expo South to Fuel Expansion

January 30, 2015 // Franchising.com // Cheshire, Conn. – Wayback Burgers, recognized as one of the most aggressive and ambitious better-burger brands in the United States, will be exhibiting at the Franchise Expo South (FES) from February 5-7 at booth No. 222 in the NRG Center, formerly Reliant Park, in Houston, Texas. Representing the brand at the expo will be Bill Chemero, Executive Vice President, and Scott Milas, Director of Franchise Development.

As the better-burger segment continues its rapid rise, Wayback Burgers has thrived by growing its brand domestically, internationally and with nontraditional locations. Wayback has differentiated itself with a high-quality and high-variety menu, serving delicious and fresh, hand-made burgers and hand-dipped milkshakes amidst an atmosphere that hearkens back to a simpler place and time.

"As Texas is the second most populated state with nearly 30 million people, the opportunity for Wayback Burgers to expand here is seemingly endless," said Chemero. "Along with the passionate franchise partners we plan to meet with to build our brand stateside, we also are looking forward to meeting with international franchise partners. FES has proven to be one of the best expos to meet franchise partners from South and Central America. We look forward to watching our brand grow worldwide in 2015."

Ending 2014 by opening Texas' newest Wayback Burgers in Laredo, owner Rosendo Guerra has already seen the potential that a Wayback Burgers franchise has. He plans to grow the brand throughout Southern Texas by opening five to six locations. Also in development in Texas are a location in Irving and two locations in Walmart Super Centers in Wiley and Pearland. Based off initial success in the South, with locations in North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia, the company sees it as a prime region to grow the Wayback brand in the coming years.

Another successful franchisee will be attending the expo as a panelist for a specialty seminar. April Valusek, mother of six, always had a particular liking to the restaurant industry. She pursued this interest right after college by attending Chef School, but ultimately opened up her own pharmacy, part of a family business. In 2012, she returned to her roots in the restaurant industry pursuing the franchise opportunity and currently is a successful multi-unit owner of Wayback Burgers in California. Valusek will be sharing her franchising experience in a specialty seminar at the FES titled "Why Franchising: How Women Can be Successful in Today's Franchising Marketplace." The seminar will take place on Thursday, February 5 from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. in room 305.

"I am honored to represent Wayback Burgers at the FES, as the brand has allowed me to follow my dream, while also representing all women in franchising," said Valusek. "Franchising has provided me a proven business structure that I have seen work firsthand, and the FES is the perfect place to meet face-to-face with the top brass at Wayback Burgers to learn more about the restaurant and available markets."

As the premier franchise expo in the South, the FES brings together qualified prospects with a variety of franchise companies looking to expand below the Mason-Dixon line. Additionally, the conference will host more than 40 free and informative seminars along with five symposia covering a wide range of topics such as "What Do I Need to Know Before Buying a Franchise," "10 Commandments of Franchise Sales," "Financing Options for Franchising: Your Best Alternatives Today" and more.

With a presence across 24 states and operations in over 100 locations, Wayback Burgers has plans to surpass 250 units sold in 2015.
