HoneyBaked Celebrates Feeding America® Donation

HoneyBaked exceeds its goal of helping to provide more than two million meals this year.

ATLANTA - Feb. 4, 2015 // PRNewswire // - At the start of 2014, HoneyBaked* pledged to help provide 2 million meals to Feeding America®, the nation's largest domestic hunger-relief organization, by year's end. With the contributions of customers and associates across the nation, HoneyBaked celebrates the gift of 2.5 million meals, 1.9 million of which were donated during the holiday season alone.

"It's hard to believe that nearly 16 million children in the U.S. today face hunger," said Maggie DeCan, HoneyBaked* President and COO. "As a food company, we feel that it is our responsibility to give back to our communities and bring light to those who deal with such adversity on a daily basis."

In their fourth consecutive year of partnership with Feeding America, HoneyBaked stores collected register donations, 100 percent of which were donated to Feeding America. To kick-off and celebrate the holiday season, HoneyBaked also gave back to their local communities during the first week of November 2014. The company donated more than 17,000 pounds of Ham and Turkey, plus an additional gift of a holiday meal to staff members at several local Feeding America food banks across the country.

"The dedication of our partners makes it possible for Feeding America to continue working towards our mission to end hunger in America," said vice president of corporate partnerships, Nancy Curby. "HoneyBaked has committed to the issue of hunger within their entire organization and we're thrilled that they not only met their support goal for this year, but exceeded it."

"We are so grateful to our HoneyBaked franchisees, associates and customers for their generous support" said DeCan. "It's humbling to think that we were able to exceed our goal of helping providing 2 million meals to people in need across the U.S."

HoneyBaked plans to continue its philanthropic efforts by maintaining a partnership with Feeding America as we enter a new year.
