The trade media outlet utilizes a 10-point formula for identifying fast-growing franchise systems that also have "staying power." The proprietary formula takes into consideration percentage sales, dollar sales and numerical unit growth over the past three years, with more weight given to acceleration in years two and three. Database for the ranking is the Franchise Times "Top 200 plus 300" of the largest franchise systems by revenue.
