March 20, 2015 // Franchising.com // Fairfield, CA - Jersey Mike’s Subs, known for its fresh sliced/fresh grilled subs, opened in Fairfield on March 11. Franchise owners Indy and Meet Pahwa held a grand opening and free sub fundraiser from Wednesday, March 11 to Sunday, March 15 to support the Matt Garcia Foundation.
The new restaurant, located at 251 Pittman Road, circulated 7,500 coupons throughout the community offering a free regular sub for a minimum $2 contribution to the Matt Garcia Foundation.
“We are excited and honored to be part of an organization like Jersey Mike’s that gives back at both a local and national level and we look forward to building a long term relationship with our community,” said Indy Pahwa. “We specifically chose the Matt Garcia Foundation as our local partner because of their commitment to education by investing in our children. Matt's dream involved supporting our youth and uniting communities so that people will have a sense of belonging and responsibility to the City of Fairfield, and we whole-heartedly support this mission."
The Pahwas are exemplary Jersey Mike’s franchise owners who share the company’s commitment to quality products and exceptional customer service, and who are dedicated to giving back to the local community. Since 2010, Jersey Mike’s locations throughout the country have raised nearly $10 million for worthy local charities and have distributed more than 1 million free sub sandwiches to help numerous causes. All March long, Jersey Mike’s franchisees throughout the nation are celebrating the 5th Annual Jersey Mike’s Month of Giving. Last year, $2.1 million was raised for more than 100 different charities nationwide.
Started in 1956, Jersey Mike’s now has 1,300 restaurants open and under development nationwide. The company was named the #1 fastest growing chain in the Nation’s Restaurant News 2014 Top 100 and continues to win best sub awards in virtually every market it enters.
The growth is fueled by passionate Jersey Mike’s fans who crave their subs made Mike’s Way® with the freshest vegetables – onions, lettuce and tomatoes – topped off with an exquisite zing of “the juice” – red wine vinegar and olive oil blended to perfection. Jersey Mike’s premium meats and cheeses are sliced on the spot, piled high on in-store baked bread and served up with a helping of neighborly banter from a dedicated and high-energy team.
This is the Pahwas’ first Jersey Mike’s location.
