Jersey Mike’s Subs Partners With Wreaths Across America For Memorial Day

May 14, 2015 // Franchising.com // MANASQUAN, N.J. – Jersey Mike’s Subs, known for its fresh sliced/fresh grilled subs, is teaming up once again this year with Wreaths Across America, accepting donations on behalf of the nonprofit veterans’ organization and honoring those in uniform during the National Memorial Day Parade in Washington, D.C., on May 25.

From May 20 to May 26, Jersey Mike’s will collect donations at all locations nationwide in support of Wreaths Across America and its mission to Remember the fallen, Honor those who serve and their families, and Teach our children the value of freedom. Customers who make a donation will receive a free mini American flag to help celebrate Memorial Day.

On Memorial Day, Jersey Mike’s will serve lunch to 1,000 active duty troops who are marching in the parade and will air five, 60-second radio ads on the Radio America Network of more than 250 radio stations throughout the country in proud support of Wreaths Across America.

“Memorial Day is one day out of the year during which our military service members, past and present, are thanked,” said Karen Worcester, executive director, Wreaths Across America. “The continued support that we receive from Jersey Mike’s allows us to further our mission of remembering and honoring our fallen heroes every day of the year - and teaching future generations to do the same - and we truly appreciate their generous efforts.”
The National Memorial Day Parade is the nation’s largest Memorial Day event. Each year, more than 300,000 spectators and 4,000 participants convene in Washington to honor our heroes who have worn the uniform. The parade includes hundreds of active duty troops. Ceremonial units representing each branch of the military lead off the parade.
