May 20, 2015 // Franchising.com // Charlottesville, VA - Jersey Mike’s Subs, known for its fresh sliced/fresh grilled subs, opened in Charlottesville on May 13. Franchise owner Ashley Harbour held a grand opening and free sub fundraiser from Wednesday, May 13 to Sunday, May 17 to support the Cancer Resource Center at Martha Jefferson Hospital.
The new restaurant, located at 2040 Abbey Rd. in Pantops Plaza, circulated 7,500 coupons throughout the community offering a free regular sub for a minimum $2 contribution to the Cancer Resource Center at Martha Jefferson Hospital.
“I started working as an assistant manager at the age of 18,” said Harbour. “I immediately developed a passion for the Jersey Mike's brand and culture. Seven years later I am honored to say I am now a Jersey Mike’s Franchisee.”
She continued, “Owning my own business has been a dream of mine since I can remember. I have had the opportunity to work with a phenomenal franchisee, Scott Buckner in his Lynchburg, Va., locations. Scott has taught me a lot of over the years and I am very grateful for his guidance and partnership. I hope to provide the same opportunities to my team that I have been given. For the grand opening, I am excited to partner with the Cancer Resource Center at Martha Jefferson Hospital. We share similar community values and the Cancer Resource Center provides many services to cancer patients to help them cope throughout their treatment. By partnering with this organization I am able to help the Cancer Resource Center make a difference in our community.”
