Roy Rogers Parent The Plamondon Companies Names Joseph Briglia Director of Real Estate and Franchise Development

Veteran of Lodging and Hospitality Management Will Focus on Development of Corporately Owned Hotels and Restaurants, Recruitment of Multi-Unit Franchisees

June 02, 2015 // Franchising.com // FREDERICK, Md. – The Plamondon Companies, the umbrella organization whose holdings include six franchised hotels and the operator and franchisor of nearly 50 Roy Rogers restaurants in the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast, announced today that it has appointed Joseph J. Briglia Director of Real Estate and Franchise Development. Based in the company’s Frederick headquarters, Briglia reports directly to Co-Presidents Jim Plamondon and Pete Plamondon, Jr. He is responsible for implementing marketing and sales efforts in support of the company’s franchise expansion goals for Roy Rogers and for establishing and implementing market-development plans for corporately owned Roy Rogers restaurants and hotels.

Under ownership of The Plamondon Companies since 2002, Roy Rogers is enjoying resurgence in many East Coast markets. Existing locations recorded another increase in sales last year thanks to building, menu and marketing enhancements and to increased brand awareness spurred by new marketing initiatives and the opening of multiple locations. Recent openings include Winchester, Va., and Rockville, Md. Other new restaurants are scheduled to debut in Gainesville, Va., Gambrills, Md., and two locations in New Jersey, Franklin and Flemington, later this year.

Briglia will oversee the successful development, launch and operation of these locations and will work to secure new ground-up and conversion opportunities for the company and its franchisees. He brings more than 25 years of experience to the position, with a specialty in project feasibility, development, operations, and marketing for public-private partnerships in the lodging, sports and entertainment, concession and hospitality/convention center industries. Most recently, he held executive positions with nationally noted facility operators and developers, including: VenuWorks, LLC, an Ames, Iowa-based company providing private management services to large indoor and outdoor venues; SMG Worldwide, a West Conshohocken, Pa.-based leader in venue management, marketing and development; and International Facilities Group, a Chicago-based sports concept planning, design and development consultant. Earlier in his career, he was an executive with Marriott International, responsible for securing locations for limited/select-service lodging and mixed-use development.

“We are delighted that Joe has brought his extensive background to our corporate team,” said Jim Plamondon. “We have an aggressive growth plan for both sides of our business and his experience will be an incredibly valuable asset in keeping the company on track and primed to locate and capitalize on new opportunities.”

Briglia is a graduate of Cornell University and holds a Bachelor of Science degree from its prominent Hotel Administration program.
