July 15, 2015 // Franchising.com // LAS VEGAS – Capriotti’s Sandwich Shop announces the upcoming arrival of their first Washington location in the greater Seattle area. Franchisee Ron Mehiel plans to open the sandwich shop’s Tukwila location this summer, marking the chain’s commitment to sharing its passion for creating quality sandwiches with turkey-lovers across the United States. To celebrate the new opening, the Tukwila location will be offering the first 100 guests a free Bobbie on opening day.
For the past 39 years, Capriotti’s has continued its founding mission of serving its guests high quality made-to-order sandwiches and subs by slow-roasting turkeys in-house every night and pulling the meat right off the bone the next morning. This commitment to quality has been recently recognized by consumer insights firm Sandelman, as Capriotti’s was ranked No. 1 on customer satisfaction attributes “Taste or Flavor of the Food” as well as “Quality of the Ingredients.” Some iconic selections include the Thanksgiving-inspired best-seller, The Bobbie®, served on a roll with slow-roasted turkey, homemade stuffing, cranberry sauce and a hint of mayo and the Capastrami featuring hot pastrami, melted Swiss cheese, cole slaw and Russian dressing to give the sub a sweet and spicy kick. Capriotti’s also has vegetarian options like the Veggie Cole Turkey, made with hot vegetarian turkey, melted provolone and Russian dressing served on a roll and an assortment of salads like The Black & Bleu featuring homemade roast beef on a bed of chopped greens topped with bleu cheese, sweet peppers, tomatoes and diced cucumbers.
“Opening our first location in Washington State marks a huge milestone in our expansion across the United States,” said Ashley Morris, CEO of Capriotti’s. “Ron’s family has years of experience in the franchise business, so we are confident that with his expertise our greater Seattle location will be a tremendous success.”
Coming from a family with over ten years of experience in franchising, Ron Mehiel knows the secrets of running a successful business. After being introduced to Capriotti’s by his brother, Mehiel was immediately impressed by the sandwich shop’s emphasis on upholding its tradition of slow-roasting its turkeys nightly and sharing its passion for serving guests high-quality sandwiches. Noting that there wasn’t a Capriotti’s in Washington, he decided it was time to bring his new favorite sandwich shop to the greater Seattle area. A Seattle native who graduated from Rainier Beach High School and holds degrees from the University of Washington, Mehiel has a finger on the pulse of what is trending in the community and is sure to be an enormous success.
“When I first stepped foot in Capriotti’s I was blown away by the sandwich shop’s commitment to serving its guests only the best quality products,” said franchisee Ron Mehiel. “It was at that moment that I realized I had to open up a location in our area. With mouthwatering favorites like The Bobbie and the Cheese Steak, people from all over the Seattle area will come to Tukwila to enjoy our sandwiches.”
