Jersey Mike's Subs Opens First Utah Location

Cottonwood Heights First Home in State for Popular Sub Shop

July 23, 2015 // Franchising.com // Cottonwood Heights, UT - Jersey Mike’s Subs, known for its fresh sliced/fresh grilled subs, opened in Cottonwood Heights on July 15th. Franchise owners Steve Leonard and Fred Downey, along with operating partners Nick Calderon & Shayla McKinney, held a grand opening and free sub fundraiser from Wednesday, July 15th to Sunday, July 19th to support Project Airtime.

The new restaurant, located at 6985 South Park Centre, circulated 10,000 coupons throughout the community offering a free regular sub for a minimum $2 contribution to Project Airtime.

Project Airtime was founded in 2013. Its mission is to “Take Everyone Flying”. Over the last two years, Chris Santacroce has taken Make a Wish Kids, Wounded Warriors, and many wheelchair bound people up in his custom made paraglider.

“I have the privilege of knowing the man behind the cause, the founder of Project Airtime - Chris Santacroce,” said Leonard. “Chris suffered a spinal injury after a stunt accident. He defied the odds and made a full recovery after being told by doctors he would never walk again”. Chris spent 13 years with the Red Bull Air Force stunt team. Now, Chris focuses on giving back to others who were not as lucky.
