Jersey Mike's Supports Troopers Assisting Troops

October 06, 2015 // Franchising.com // Manasquan, NJ - In September, Jersey Mike’s Subs presented a check for $15,000 to Troopers Assisting Troops (TAT) for support of K9s For Warriors, a service dog program. The program pairs up carefully matched rescue dogs with wounded veterans to assist in the transition of their return to civilian life with dignity and independence.

“K9s for Warriors saves two lives, the recue dog and the Wounded Warrior,” said Gary McWhorter, president, Troopers Assisting Troops. “Jersey Mike’s donation will allow Troopers Assisting Troops to sponsor Wounded Warriors to attend K9s For Warriors Campus for a three week/120 hour resident academy where they are partnered up with their new companion.”

Tom Waldron, retired state trooper and a personal trainer at Jersey Mike’s home office gym in Manasquan, shared Troopers Assisting Troops’ story with Founder and CEO Peter Cancro who was immediately supportive.

Troopers Assisting Troops (TAT) is a grass roots non profit group of retired and active New Jersey State Troopers and friends providing support to returning Wounded Warriors from the Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF)/Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) theaters with local recreational and rehabilitative programs. TAT works closely with, and utilizes the expertise, knowledge and assistance of the Wounded Warrior Project.Org (WWP) of Jacksonville, Florida.
