SONIC® Drive-In to Open in North Syracuse on Saturday, Nov. 14

America’s Drive-In will donate 10 percent of sales Saturday through Tuesday to local non-profits.

November 12, 2015 // Franchising.com // Syracuse, N.Y. – SONIC, America’s Drive-In®, is celebrating the opening of its first North Syracuse drive-in location at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 14, 2015. SONIC will donate 10 percent of all sales Saturday, Nov. 14 through Monday, Nov. 16 to the local Make-A-Wish® chapter and 10 percent of sales on Tuesday, Nov. 17 to Honor Flight Syracuse, a non-profit dedicated to honoring America’s Veterans.

“The reception by the community has been incredible; Upstate New York has been clamoring for SONIC for years now, and we’re thrilled to be the ones filling that void,” said Fran DeSimone, franchisee of the new drive-in. “We invite all of our neighbors to stop by this coming week to try something new, and especially on Saturday through Tuesday when 10 percent of our sales will be donated to a good cause.”

DeSimone opened his first Upstate SONIC in Watertown, N.Y. last year, and is planning another location for the city of DeWitt, N.Y. In total, DeSimone has agreements in place to bring 11 SONIC Drive-Ins to the Upstate New York region.

The new North Syracuse SONIC is located at 3808 Brewerton Road in North Syracuse. The drive-in features an indoor dining room for colder weather along with the familiar drive-in parking stalls for cars to pull in, offering fans many ways to enjoy SONIC. Following opening day, the drive-in will be open from 7 a.m. until midnight Sunday through Thursday and 7 a.m. to 1 a.m. Friday and Saturday. SONIC guests are invited to enjoy their customizable, made-to-order breakfast, lunch and dinner favorites all day, and half-price drinks and Slushes during Happy Hour from 2 to 4 p.m. daily.

SONIC has experienced a great deal of growth in the Northeast in recent years, and additional opportunities are available for entrepreneurs looking for a unique brand to bring to this eager market. “SONIC is expanding rapidly through franchise partnerships, and we are constantly looking for new franchisees interested in becoming a part of a different kind of restaurant concept,” said Drew Ritger, senior vice president of development at SONIC.
