Why Quality Is No Accident: Big Whiskey’s American Restaurant & Bar® Announces Addition of KDS to Local Stores
October 27, 2016 // Franchising.com // Springfield, MO - To help meet its growth initiatives, Big Whiskey’s has added the latest Kitchen Display System (KDS) to ensure better service times and internal controls. The new technology works seamlessly with the restaurant’s Micros POS system. KDS is important to the chain’s success for 3 reasons:
- Faster serving times. Big Whiskey’s goal is to achieve ‘order-to-delivery’ turn around in 10-to-12 minutes for lunch and 15-to-18 minutes during dinner.
- Eliminate ordering mistakes. Using KDS reports, incorrect orders are highlighted and corrected, reducing the high cost of re-makes and time delays.
- Franchisee efficiency. As new BW franchise outlets come on line, they’ll operate with the new system giving them an immediate impact on customer retention and satisfaction as well as cost controls.
“Daily in-depth reports help us pinpoint exactly where we need to focus our attention,” said Matt Caetano, VP of Operations. “We put any necessary changes in place immediately with all staff by giving them the latest, best tools they need to do their jobs successfully.”
Ed House, owner of the Kansas City franchise, is confident the move will help grow his business. “Big Whiskey’s continues to put proven, professional systems in place to help us maximize our return on investment and streamline daily operations.”
Big Whiskey's maintains a commitment to both customer and employee satisfaction. “KDS is critical to our growth as we continue to add franchises,” Caetano said. “Our customers get just what they ask for, delivered on time, with the same quality and portion size they expect. Our staff benefits by more accurate order tracking making their job easier—eliminating paper tickets makes for a much more efficient system.”
